He combines his technical expertise with an intuitive ear to achieve a high-quality sound, paying close attention to the artist's vision and bringing it to life in the recording, mixing, and mastering process.
One of Ryan's specialties is capturing the emotion and energy of an artist’s performance in a studio recording. He believes that music should be an immersive experience and strives to create recordings that transport listeners to the moment of the original performance and the intention of their impact. Ryan is skilled at creating a sense of space and depth in his mixes, giving each instrument and voice its own place in the sonic landscape.
Ryan is an excellent communicator and collaborator, working closely with each artist to ensure that their vision is fully realized in the final product. His passion for music and dedication to his craft is evident in every recording he produces. Ryan’s production work was recognized when his client Nathan Walton won Album of the Year at the 2023 WYCE Jammie Awards. In addition to his work at Electric Moon Studios, Ryan performs in CAMARAM, a rock band that plays around Michigan. Ryan is also the co-producer of the New Moon Songwriting Challenge, an annual effort to encourage artists to forge new collaborations in West Michigan offering a Grand Prize with a recording package, release strategy consulting session, promo photos and video, and a festival showcase.
Electric Moon Studios, Ryan's Grand Rapids-based recording studio, is a creative music production space that offers recording, mixing, and mastering services for a variety of genres. The studio is known for its exceptional production quality and Ryan's personal touch, as well as its comfortable and private vibe. Ryan designed the studio to have a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, equipped with a range of high-quality gear and instruments, and set up to accommodate both solo artists and full bands. Having worked with Michigan producer engineers like Joel Ferguson (The Verve Pipe and Planet Sunday Studios), Roy Wallace (River City Studios), Jake Rye (Social Recording Company and Sanctus Reel), Ryan sets the bar high.

The studio's soundproofing and acoustics have been carefully designed to provide an optimal listening experience, and Ryan is always on hand to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
